Zenitsu Agatsuma is one of the main characters in the anime/manga fantasy horror series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayers Corps and is partners with Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Haishibira.

- Zenitsu has gained a very vocal fandom in the Japan side of the fanbase.
- Zenitsu is a very relatable character for his fearfulness since he's literally fighting Demons so its a pretty normal reaction to have when fighting Demons.
- Zenitsu goes through good amounts of character development throughout the series and helps out with more fights and be strong enough to protect his allies. His competence in the final battle helped his popularity increase over time.
- While he comes off as a coward who is constantly scared of everything, he is a very well-written character who develops into a stronger and braver individual who can fight without being knocked out.
- Zenitsu is a very kind person who did give off a bad impression but ends up being a good natured person.
- He is considered to be one of the Comic Relief characters in the series and fans believe that he is actually shown to be funny.
- Zenitsu is extremely strong and has very cool breathing technique and is able to fight whenever he is sleeping. This changes his personality to an annoying screaming coward into a cool badass.
- He is very competent in his final battle with Kaigaku, an Upper Rank Six, which actually helped his popularity to increase.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Zenitsu has many detractors in the Western side of the Fandom because of his loud and annoying personality and his constant screaming that is very irritating to detractors.
- Fans even drop the anime because of how annoying he and cowardliness he is.
- His detractors don't like his desperate attitude towards women in wanting to marry them all the time, which makes him come across more as creepy than funny.
- His cowardliness doesn't make any situation better for his fellow partners and can be very stressful since he often complains and whines throughout many mission.
- When he's not sleeping, he pretty much couldn't face a Demon and did nothing but scream, making detractors believe that his is only cool when he's sleeping.
- Because all of these traits are portrayed of when he was first introduced, western fans believe that his character introduction is bad for newcomers of watching the anime.
