Yona is one of the minor supporting characters who made her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. She is a Zora fiancée, (later wife) of Sidon. She is a medical professional who tends to the sick or injured and plays a role in helping the ill Zora suffering from the sludge that is contaminating Zora's Domain's water supply.

What Do People Like About Her?

• Yona is pretty well noted for her cute appearance and brings a very good contrast to the grouchy Muzu, who was known for his previous prejudice towards Hylians. She herself has nothing against any race.
• Fans adore her for her loving relationship with Sidon and standing up to him when he tries to tell her to return to the domain in fear of losing her and helping him move on with his life in wake of Mipha's death.
• There are some shippers who don't mind her being with Sidon and have noted to be very happy for them. Even some Sidlink shippers who tolerate Yona being Sidon's fiancée have taken the alternative of doing a threesome consisting of her, Link, and Sidon.
• Upon learning that Yona is from a different domain from another land, fans have longed for her story to be expanded upon in another game.

What Do People Hate About Her?

• Most of Yona's detractors are notably Sidlink shippers, who did not like her being canonically paired with Sidon and preferred him to either be single or be together with Link instead and felt that she is getting in the way of their ship.
• Some of her non-shipping detractors have stated that her appearance in Tears of the Kingdom with no acknowledgement in any other game prior felt completely random and out of nowhere, since neither Dorephan, Mipha, or Sidon have ever brought her up in any of the previous games they appeared in.
