The Once-Ler is an antagonist in the 2012 Illumination animated film The Lorax.
He formerly ran a Thneed Factory that destroyed the ecosystem because of how much trees were getting cut down. He however is remorseful of what he has done and isolated himself from the artificial city because of what it has become. He meets a young kid named Ted Wiggins, who gave him the last Trufulla so he could restore the things that needed to be restored, having a chance to redeem himself.
He was portrayed by Ed Helms.

- The Once-Ler has became very popular over the years because of how interesting and entertaining his character is. Many of his fans also find his character to be very attractive.
- He has a very well-known iconic villainous song "How Bad Can I Be?". His song became so popular on the internet
- The Once-Ler was someone who was never evil. He is tragic as he was manipulated and pressured by his family members, mainly his mother.
- He is a very good and kind person that never really wanted to harm anyone to begin with and his kept his promise of not cutting down any trees.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Also throughout the years, many of his fans got a bit wild of obsessing over his character mainly due to his looks, making most of his popularity over suggestive fan art, which causes people to dislike his character.
- The Once-Ler was said to be more heartless, greedy, and evil, in the movie, he was only really manipulative and still greedy, but never really evil due to all of the pressure that his family gave him. In fact he is also very remorseful of his actions. Because of villainous he was in the book, his detractors find his character more insulting.
- Some hate how the film chose to show his face at all, as it detracts from the original book's message that anyone could be like the Once-Ler.

- Originally Once-ler was going to have a song known as biggering which would have deep explored Once-ler's decent into madness with him knowing what he's doing and would have made seen more of a Villain It is unknown how would it affect his base Breaking status if the song were to made into the final version.
