What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]

What Do People Like About Him?[]

  • Fans like the overall concept of a superhuman with immorality, his brief backstory is very interesting as it shows his long life and the many centuries he has lived for including his time as Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States.
    • Interestingly, much of his character references Vandal Savage, an immortal supervillain from DC comics.
  • People like Immortal’s moment in Season 1 Episode 7 where the first thing he does after his revival by the Mauler Twins is to seek revenge on Omni-Man. Not only his anger towards him is justified since Omni-Man killed him and the other guardians of the Globe, but also portrays him in a sympathetic light since he seems to have been deeply traumatized by the unexpected betrayal of his former partner and witnessing his team being ruthlessly killed right in front of him.
  • Despite being jerk, fans do find the Immortal pretty compelling as he genuinely wants to help save the world from any outside threat while struggling with his immortality, leading fans to sympathize with him. Due to his long lifespan, it seem the immortality affected him psychologically as he lost many lovers and wives throughout the centuries while not remembering their names, which suggest he is slowly becoming senile.
  • Him asking where Omni-Man is has became a massive meme in the community.

What Do People Hate About Him?[]

  • Ever since he got killed by Omni-Man with the rest of Guardians of The Globe at the beginning of the story, the Immortal never wins a single fight he gets into, which led fans to question his status as the "most strongest superhero on Earth."
    • In Season 3 Episode 3, he even got defeated by the Mauler Twins, of all people, even with the aid of Dupli-Kate and her clones, Shapesmith, Darkwing II, and Black Samson.
      • Ironically, The Immortal once defeated the Mauler Twins back in Season 1 Episode 1 alongside other Guardians of The Globe.
    • It even makes no sense as after thousands of years of fighting, The Immortal should at least have an abundant experience in combat, but the show depicted him always rushed in battle and got defeated or killed very easily.
  • Detractors really dislike his personality because they felt the Immortal comes off as a complete jerk to the people he talks to including his misplace grudge against Mark.
  • A lot of detractors wonder what's the point of the Immortal to the overall story when he does not show any signs of character development besides having a romance with Dupli-Kate and suffering from grief.
  • Some fans really dislike his relationship with Dupli-Kate due to being extremely older than her, it doesn't help that he is her boss which makes their relationship very unprofessional. The only person who ever called them out on their relationship is, ironically, Rex.
    • Not only that the relationship itself is weird but lacking in development since they are suddenly involved with each other after the events of season 1. They try to explain it by saying that they died multiple times with Dupli-Kate suggesting that she might be the same age as him due to the years she lived with her clones, which doesn't make any sense considering the Immortal is old enough to be from prehistoric times.
    • Detractors even feel pissed off due to the fact that The Immortal got a Happy Ending at the end of Season 3 where both he and Dupli-Kate got revived and engaged after the Invincible War. But none of them have any significant contribution in the war as both got killed by Lenless Invincible. While other heroes like Tech Jacket and Rex-Splode are able to take down one invincible variants.
