The Cat in the Hat is the titular and main protagonist of the 2003 live-action film adaptation of Dr. Seuss' popular book The Cat in the Hat, who intervenes in Conrad and Sally Walden's lives one day to teach them lessons about having fun, and to stop Conrad from being sent to military school from Larry Quinn.
He was played by Mike Myers.

- He has several funny scenes, many of which have turned into memes, making him very memorable even for people who don’t like the character.
- He actually cares about Conrad and Sally despite being a jerk, as he does not like Larry Quinn, he doesn’t want Conrad to get sent to military school, and he legitimately wants to improve the two’s lives.
- He has a pet the dog moment where despite him being yelled at to get out of the house by Conrad and Sally, he comes back regardless and cleans up the house, which allows for Larry Quinn’s defeat and Joan Walden (Conrad and Sally's mother) to breakup with him.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- He is unfaithful and deviates significantly from the original Cat in the Hat, where he is much more jerkish and has several dirty jokes, most of which were absent from the original Cat in the Hat book and animated special and are even inappropriate for the kids film.
- Those were partially why he was subjected to so many internet memes.
- He has an incredibly ugly design, which can be creepy for younger audiences.
- Some people hate how obnoxious Mike Myers' performance was, thinking he was miscast.
- On top of that, Mike Myers was difficult to work with as he did not want to do the film but was forced to due to a contract, would not work with anyone other than his assistants and director Welch, and had outrageous behavior on set.
