Teppei: *coughs* Gosh... Well, I suppose it's not too surprising that a mysterious weapon of unknown origins would come with its risks. I've been getting more and more tired over the past few days, and I have this... strange sense of dread. At first I'd find I was a little more beat than usual after a battle. Didn't think anything of it. But today, I got back and suddenly my vision was going blurry. This is a real shame... There I was, thinking I was catching up with ya, haha... Guess I didn't receive the favor of the gods, after all...
Traveler: ...
Teppei: Hey (Traveler), would you do something for me? When our uniforms are ready, grab mine for me... bring it back here, and we can change together... What's that look for? Don't worry, partner. Soon as I've rested up, I'll be right as rain. Right as rain, I tell ya... soon as I've... rested up...
Paimon: Teppei...
~ Teppei's final moments, Those Who Yearn for the Gods' Gaze

Teppei was a supporting deuteragonist in open world role-playing video game Genshin Impact in Archon Quest Chapter II: Omnipresence Over Mortals. He was a member of Watatsumi Army that fought against Raiden Shogun's oppressive rule & Vision Hunt Decree. He first served in the logistics division before being assigned to Gobius Platoon. He succumbs to a side effect of a Delusion after using it in battle.

He was voiced by Christian La Monte (who voiced Kuroda in the same game) in the English dub, Wenjie Zhengwu (郑武文杰) in the Chinese dub, and Yuuichi Iguchi (井口 祐一) in the Japanese dub.

What Makes Him Base Breaking Character?[]

What Do People Like About Him?[]

  • Yuuichi Iguchi and Christian La Monte's performance.
  • His death scene was heartbreaking yet satisfying at the same time despite being completely out of his own stupidity which the narrative doesn’t want players to feel bad for through Scaramouche’s comments. Without him, The Traveler won't be able to defeat La Signora and confront Raiden Shogun to abolish Vision Hunt Decree.

What Do People Hate About Him?[]

  • Detractors found the fact Teppei was an underdeveloped Miles Gloriosus with informed capabilities for being Watatsumi army logistics officer and doctor such as knowledge of medicine and supply management who unfortunately gets himself killed by the Fatui during the civil war by accepting a delusion.
    • Writing-wise, Teppei basically contributes almost nothing and was killed off by The Fatui in order for The Traveler to take action, only serving to rush the pacing of the Chapter II storyline.

Trivia[]

  • Teppei's Japanese VA later voices Shikanoin Heizou in version 2.8.
  • Teppei, Liloupar, Il Dottore, and La Signora were Genshin Impact NPCs who were Base-Breaking Characters.
