~ Snoke's last words seconds before being killed by Kylo Ren. |
Supreme Leader Snoke is a major antagonist in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He is a powerful genetic strandcast experienced in the dark side of the Force who is the founder and original Supreme Leader of the First Order, commanding his apprentice Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) and the high-ranking military official General Armitage Hux via hologram. After the Battle of Starkiller Base, Snoke would come out of the shadows and command his flagship, the Mega-class Star Dreadnought Supremacy, in an attack against the Resistance. It is revealed that he had seduced Ben to the dark side while he was training under Luke Skywalker.
After capturing Rey and ordering Kylo to kill her to prove himself worthy to him, Kylo betrayed and murdered Snoke, using Anakin's lightsaber on his throne to cut him in half. Kylo later usurped his position and became the new Supreme Leader. However, it turns out that Snoke was the revived Emperor Palpatine's creation and puppet ruler as he was made to lead the First Order and to corrupt the young Ben Solo.
He was portrayed and voiced by Andy Serkis through motion-capture, who also played Gollum and the Witch-king of Angmar in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Mr. Grin in Stormbreaker, Spike in Flushed Away, Captain Archibald Haddock in The Adventures of Tintin, Kertasnikir in Netflix's Hilda, and Capricorn in Inkheart.

What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Fans like how manipulative and evil he is as a villain, being able to manipulate and corrupt Ben Solo since he was a child.
- His speech over Kylo Ren not living up to Darth Vader's power was very memorable.
- Fans think he is a great and enigmatic character.
- Fans like Andy Serkis' acting performance and the design of the character.

What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Detractors dislike that he was suddenly killed by Kylo Ren in The Last Jedi. At the time the film was released, there was little to no information about the character's background, so they think he was wasted. It doesn't help that most of his background was revealed in other material, such as books and novels, instead of in the films.
- Additionally, many fans feel he's harder to take seriously in The Last Jedi due to acting much more smug and cartoonishly evil, with his death making him look like an idiot as he foolishly boasts that he can never be betrayed, while failing to notice that Kylo Ren is about to kill him.
- Detractors also hate his acting performance and his ugly appearance, claiming it is goofy-looking.
- Detractors dislike that he turned out to be Palpatine's puppet that he himself was unaware of.
- Detractors dislike that he's not seen doing anything with a lightsaber. He's implied to be a super powerful Force wielder but all that it is shown is his telekinesis and one electric charge.
