The Storm King, or simply known as Storm only in the French version, is a major antagonist of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, being the main antagonist of the 2017 animated film My Little Pony: The Movie, as well as the overarching antagonist of the season 8 and Equestria Girls: Spring Breakdown.
He is a conquering tyrant who with his army and the help of his second in command Tempest Shadow invaded and conquered Canterlot with the intention of stealing the magic of the alicorn princesses to be all-powerful and thus take over the world.
He was voiced by Liev Schreiber.

What Do People Like About Him?[]
- He is considered (along with King Sombra, Chrysalis and Cosmos) one of the darkest villains in the fourth generation of My Little Pony, due to his sadistic personality and his objective, since he himself admits that he does not want to have the power to govern since he is not interested, but to have the power to cause the greatest destruction, chaos, and torment any living being in Equestria only for his sadistic enjoyment.
- He has one or another memorable moment, like his call with Tempest Shadow in which he acts comically, as well as threatening towards her, or his little game in which he plays with the moon and the sun.
- He is one of the most successful villains in MLP, taking control of Canterlot and imprisoning almost all the ponies (including Starlight Glimmer who was a fairly powerful unicorn) and almost petrifying the Mane 6 (although it was an attack they didn't see coming) if it weren't for Tempest Shadow he would have done it.
- His comic moments also made some laugh, like his aforementioned game of the moon and the sun.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- He is considered by his detractors as a Tirek rip-off, since they have strangely similar objectives (extract alicorn magic in order to cause chaos and destruction, having allies who do the work for them most of the time until they stop serving them (Discord and Tempest Shadow) and their failed attempts to take magic from the ponies).
- He has too little screen time, and the one with the most screen time is Tempest Shadow herself, which is quite disappointing given that he is the main villain and Tempest is the secondary villain.
- It also doesn't help that some of its moments are mostly comical, which while some like it, its detractors don't find it funny that a villain with gigantic threats behaves in a childish manner.
- In season 9, villains from past seasons returned, however he did not do so despite his impact in season 8 with the creation of the school of friendship and his great threat to Equestria and not to mention that he still had a lot to give, as could be demonstrated in the comics where he appears. Which leads many to be even more disappointed with the character.
- In general, he is a character that not many consider interesting due to either his generic objectives, his little time on screen, or his childish attitude.
