Starlow is the deuteragonist of the Mario & Luigi series, debuting in Mario & Luigi: Bowser Inside Story. She is a spirit of the stars, who originally came to counter a disease called the Blorbs, but she came back to help Mario and Luigi in their future adventures.

What Do People Like About Her?[]
- Fans love Starlow's simple adorable character design and the various expressions she makes, from happiness and sadness to anger and surprise.
- There are some people who find her quips she makes about Luigi to be funny and adds to the humor, considering that she does not actually hate him despite her being a jerk to him sometimes.
- When Mario & Luigi: Brothership's teaser trailer was announced, fans noticed her absence and worried that she may not return again, but with the next trailer out, they were happy to see that she is still in the game, while she was demoted to an extra character who travels with Peach. Additionally they also enjoy Starlow and Peach's odd but complimentary friendship.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- Detractors despise Starlow for the fact that she was consistently overexposed in the series past her debut game, even into the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions remake when she didn't appear yet, although she was exclusive to the Minion Quest side story.
- She was considered annoying over the fact that she often picks on Luigi a lot, which doesn't help that in recent years, Luigi being treated badly has been dying out, and has his goofy clumsiness played for typical slapstick humor.
- When Mario & Luigi: Brothership's teaser trailer was announced, her detractors were initially pleased that she isn't going to be appearing up, until the next one where she actually appears alongside Peach, but to their relief, she isn't traveling with Mario and Luigi this time, which was given over to Snoutlet who has a more important role in this game.
