Simon, also known as Dad and Silly Simon, is a main character from the television show Horrid Henry, based on the children's book series of the same name by Fransesca Simon.

He is the father of Horrid Henry and Perfect Peter. He and Mum often discipline Henry for his bad behavior while praising Peter and defending him from his brother's bullying.

He was voiced by Wayne Forester.

What Do People Like About Him?

• He is usually justified with his strictness towards Henry due to his horrid behavior.
• He has many likeable traits like showing his fun-loving side and having many comedic moments.
• Many consider his discipline to be fairer in comparison to Mum's, as he gives less severe punishments and is willing to punish Peter as well if he deserves it.
• When he isn't mad at Henry he acts like a good father towards him, such as when he helped him build a go-kart, keeping his promise to give him £5 and showing his gratitude towards Henry for asking his boss Big Bob to give him a lighter workload.
• His character develops for the better in the later seasons, where he has less dislikeable moments and spends more time showing enthusiasm and having a good relationship with his sons.

What Do People Hate About Him?

• Due to Henry being more likeable in the TV show, his strictness towards Henry comes off as being toxic and unjustified, accusing him for most problems and always punishing his bad behavior rather than helping him to be better, unlike how he always defends and encourages Peter. Many believe that Henry only acts horrid as a result of feeling unloved by his parents and being envious towards their favoritism towards Peter.
  • In "Perfect Peter's Horrid Day", when Peter sprays Henry with the garden hose, he yells at Henry despite Peter holding the hose and Henry having no means to defend himself. Even when Peter admits to him that he did spray Henry, he blamed Henry for not getting out of the way when Peter was watering the flowers.
