Silver the Hedgehog is a major character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He serves as one of the two deuteragonists of Sonic '06. He is a white, anthropomorphic hedgehog hailing from two hundred years into the future where his role is to protect his timeline by changing the catastrophes of the past, thus preventing the ruining of his era.
In Japanese dub, he is voiced by Daisuke Ono. In English dub, he is voiced by Pete Capella, Quinton Flynn, and currently being voiced by Bryce Papenbrook.
What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- He is a brave, selfless, good-hearted and optimistic hero who cares a lot for his friends, has a strong sense of justice, and who's willing to do whatever it takes to save his future from the ruins it was left in.
- He is extremely likable. Not only a cool and appealing design, but he is also a naive and pretty dorky character with a charming soft dork-ish voice.
- His Psychokinesis powers are very cool and nice to see it in action.
- His boss fight in Sonic Generations and his gameplay in Project '06 (fan remake of Sonic '06) are massive improvements over the original 06 ones.
- His theme song (Dreams of an Absolution) is great.
- Due to his new popularity, some people would consider him to be very underrated.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Sometimes he is too naive and lacks the ability to critical thinking similar to Knuckles (this can also cause him to be easily tricked). He ended up trusting Mephiles' suggestion to kill Sonic, who looks obviously evil.
- He is also known to be somewhat immature, so much that he ended up receiving a kick from behind the head by Shadow the Hedgehog.
- His gameplay as a boss fight and as a playable character in Sonic '06 are both very bad, which certainly influenced the first impression of him.
- The powerscaling of Silver can be inconsistent at times because of clanky animation, in which Infinite and Phantom Ruby were suffering from.
- In Sonic Forces, Silver cannot handle the Death Egg Robots in Sunset Heights. While in Generations, he could telekinetically throw many chunky updrafts and shaping a Giant ball of debris. While he did knock the prototype rubies earlier when engaging Infinite, he didn't prevent any Death Egg Robots destroy everything in Sunset Heights and He's easily defeated by Infinite somehow.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, he's a complete reverse of Shadow the Hedgehog, both in terms of character and in terms of initial perception.
