What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Scar is considered by fans to be one of Disney's greatest villains due to how charismatic and manipulative he was.
- The fans consider his villain song, Be Prepared, as one of the most iconic villains' songs due to how terrifying it is. The same could be somewhat said with “When I Led the Guard” in The Lion Guard.
- Due to how iconic his performance is, many fans felt that Jeremy Irons should've won the MTV Awards for best villain of Dennis Hooper from Speed.
- When the 2019 remake was made, fans weren't happy that Jeremy Irons hadn't been recast despite James Earl Jones reprising his role for Mufasa.
- He was very impressive with his killing of Mufasa and endangerment of Simba's life, and as a spirit, attempting to corrupt Kion into being like him by having Ushari subdue him with venom to enhance his negative traits.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- His detractors feel that Scar's charismatic, manipulative personality goes out the window in the second half of the film being replaced by that of an overgrown manchild who barks orders.
- Many of his detractors felt that several other villains within Disney's library have done Scar's schtick far better and fail to understand why his fans consider him to be such a great villain.
