There's only two things that make a man look weak, caring about other people, and eating mild chicken wings. I don't care about ANYONE! And I always order my wings bum inferno hot! Did you know that pooping in a stranger's purse is a crime? Yet somehow if I dropped brown crayons in my own pants, I wouldn't have a criminal record! Who's making these laws?

What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]

What Do People Like About Him?[]

  • Outside from all of the fart jokes he makes throughout the series, fans tend to find his jerkass personality to be very funny, who is also very entertaining to watch. Fans believe that he is actually a pretty good character without the fart jokes.
  • Fans did like his interactions with some of the cast in the series, the two most examples are with Chase and Zee, and is often seen as a trio with the both of them.
  • By the few times he mentioned his parents, it is heavily implied that he grew up in a toxic household. He mentions that his father would always drop him and his 3 brothers when they were babies, he also mentions that two of them are fine. As for his mother, he mentions that she thinks babies ruin everything, so she's openly telling her son that she wishes he was never born. Fans are willing to cut him some slack since he has no idea how unhealthy his up bring is.
  • In the second season of the reboot, he began to be shown as a positive light, which did help some detractors to enjoy his build up as a character. He began to be more kind towards others, used less fart jokes, and even fell in love with Axel. Fans enjoyed seeing a soft side of Ripper.
  • His fans enjoyed him for his crush on Axel. Fans find him and his relationship, also his crush on Axel adorable, especially since he made a poem for her which made her fall in love with him. Fans felt that this relationship improved his character.

What Do People Hate About Him?[]

  • He mostly come across as an annoying fart machine whose character and felt that his personality is mainly focused on fart jokes that got old way too fast. Detractors felt that these jokes were unnecessary and ruined his potential as a good jerkass character. This can also make detractors make his character come across unfunny and another version of Owen.
  • Ripper ended up surviving each elimination before merge. Due to this, detractors believe he had too much screen time that stayed way too long than he should've. This ended up getting many fan favorites eliminated, leading detractors to believe that it would've been better if Ripper got eliminated earlier.
  • Even if we do see the kinder side of Ripper, detractors believe that him taking a level of kindness caused downhill of his character from before. Especially after he and Axel got together, detractors felt like his character only revolved around Axel and was poorly handled when fans were expecting a redemption arc for him in the second season.
  • Some detractors felt he was mischaracterized in the second season, becoming way nicer for little to no reason. These same detractors also tend to think his crush on Axel came out of the blue, with there being hardly any set up for it, and they get together oddly quickly.
    • This case doesn't help with his elimination and quitting the show either. Detractors felt that he could have more independence and development after Axel got eliminated, but instead his elimination ended up being poorly executed and him quitting felt out of character.
