"Major Spoilers Ahead!" |
Rigby is one of the two main protagonists (along with Mordecai) of Cartoon network 2010 TV series, Regular Show, and the main protagonist of the movie Regular Show: The Movie.
He is the older brother of Don, and Mordecai's best friend. He is a 23-year-old raccoon. He made his debut in the pilot episode as a groundskeeper of the park.
He was voiced by William Salyers.
What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- He has good character development throughout the show, which is even better than Mordecai's development (which becomes more unpleasant over time), as Rigby becomes more mature and responsible.
- He has a good relationship with his girlfriend Eileen Roberts, and he was always with her until the end. Most fans agree that their relationship was handled better than Mordecai’s arc with Margaret and CJ.
- He has a good friendship with Mordecai, and whenever they make mistakes, they both always sort it out.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Rigby is extremely egoist to his detractors, often putting his own interests above others. A notable example is in the Regular Show movie, which is when he changes Mordecai's acceptance letter to university, sabotaging his friend's future just to maintain their friendship. This behavior makes his detractors see him as a toxic character.
- Some detractors find him arrogant and stupid, and also largely responsible for causing the problems at the park for Benson Dunwoody.
- He has also made Mordecai embarrass himself a few times.
- In "Do or Diaper", he and Muscle Man dare Mordecai to kiss Margaret or else he wears a diaper for 1 week. Unfortunately, Margaret yank's Mordecai chain by wishing him a nice week, and so he wears a diaper for 1 week.
- In "Do Me a Solid", he makes Mordecai do a solid which ends up shocking everyone and even records Mordecai doing said solid.
- His detractors think that Rigby was jealous of Mordecai, as he often tries to compete with Mordecai or sabotage him when he feels he is being left behind and even causing problems and even involving other characters, especially when Mordecai is successful in relationships or other areas of life.
- For much of the cartoon, Rigby acts childish, refusing to take on adult responsibilities. He often complains when he doesn't get what he wants or when he loses in games, as seen in the episode "Death Punchies".
