Peter Pan is the titular deuteragonist of the same name of his film from 1953 and it's sequel. He is the defender of Neverland who never wanted to grow up.
In the original film, he was played by the late Bobby Driscoll (in his last role) and in modern media by Blayne Weaver.
What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Some fans find him just as funny as Captain Hook and may consider him a good comic relief.
- He's liked for having a strong character arc, as shown when he went from being cocky and arrogant to being stronger and more caring when he did everything he can to save the three Darling children, Lost Boys, and Tiger Lily from Captain Hook and his pirate crew.
- He is also considered to have become more likable in Return to Neverland, when he subverted some of his most disliked traits and made Jane the mother of the Lost Boys. He also escorted her back to London.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- His detractors accuse him of making Captain Hook's life miserable and cutting off his hand and throwing it to the crocodile that caused him to hunt down Hook, which likely gave him PTSD.
- He has moments where he is shown to be somewhat cocky, mischievous, and rude, especially around Tinker Bell and Wendy, which for some fans are too much for him to be likeable.
- His relationship with Wendy is shown to be one-sided, with accusations of only Wendy showing all of the affection towards him. An example of this is one scene where she is being attacked by the mermaids and he does nothing to help, laughs at her misfortune, and insists that the mermaids were only having fun, which is viewed as a mean-spirited scene.
- He is so immature that he seemed to be the epitome of "the boy who never grew up" archetype that the original book version had set up.
