"Justin" Peter Löwenbräu Griffin, known to be Peter Griffin is the main protagonist in the adult cartoon series Family Guy. He is the father of the Griffin household, who is the husband of Lois Griffin, father of Chris, Meg, and Stewie Griffin, and the owner of Brian Griffin. While a protagonist for the most part, he’s often seen to be the villainous protagonist in most episodes due to committing many villainous because of his own stupidity and sadistic ways.
He is voiced by Seth MacFarlane, who also voiced Glenn Quagmire and Brian Griffin in the same series, as well as Stan Smith in American Dad.

What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Peter is a very hilarious and amusing character with his random and stupid antics that keeps the show very entertaining and has a very iconic laugh.
- He has memorable and interesting fights with Ernie The Giant Chicken, Homer Simpson, and Donald Trump.
- Over the years, Peter got plenty of internet memes because of how funny he is with his stupidity and his catchphrases.
- While this is mostly shown in the earlier seasons, fans still appreciate that Peter really cares and loves his family and didn't abuse his children and most of all, Meg in the beginning of the series. He is also a great friend to Quagmire, Cleveland, and Joe. Even in the new episodes, he still bonds with his family and is a caring father sometimes.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- He infamously suffered an extremely bad character derailment and flanderization, as proven when he went from a jolly, yet clumsy, patriarch with a heart of gold to an abusive and selfish sociopath who constantly abuses his children, especially Meg, and a horrible cheating husband to Lois with almost no redeeming qualities. This caused his popularity to decline immensely overtime because of the negative character change.
- Most of his actions in the series make him completely unforgivable in spite of the satirical nature of Family Guy, such as trying to marry his own son Chris just for money, which is considered an incest, and when he told Brian and Lois to stop crying after Meg was gone. To top it off, when he thought the world was ending, he told his family that he was ashamed of them, believing they were about to die and that he wouldn't have to pay any price for saying this. Even to the point where almost every time that viewers are supposed to feel sorry for him, it fails miserably due to his extreme derailment into an abusive and sociopathic criminal who constantly gets away with his horrible actions.
- Detractors believe that his laugh and stupidity overtime can get annoying and is seen by some as no longer enjoyable (they were during the earlier seasons).
