Owen, also known as the The Party Guy is a major character in the Canadian Cartoon Reality Show franchise Total Drama. He is first ever winner in Total Drama Island and was apart of the team the Screaming Gophers. From the following seasons, he was a member of the Killer Grips in Total Drama Action, and Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot in Total Drama World Tour. He however returns in the spin-off series Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race, who is known to be the Reality TV Pros with his best friend Noah. In Total Drama Island (2024), he makes a guest appearance.

What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?

What Do People Like About Him?

• Owen is appreciated and well-liked by his fans by generally being funny and how much of a friendly guy he is. His fans consider him to be a very lovable character.
• His victory over Gwen is justifiable due to having a great morale advantage, as he mentioned loving his time on the show as opposed to Gwen, who hated her time on the show.
• In World Tour, his comedic fear of flying made him comedic in the first episode, he contributed to his team positively, he formed a friendship with Noah, and fans felt sympathy for him when he and Izzy broke up, which toned down his status as a Creator's Pet.
• In the spin-off series Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race, this helped tone down his hate even more. His friendship and chemistry with Noah was more developed, he tries to win the game this time, and it doesn't feel forced when he made it far in the competition as from the previous seasons.
• In Total Drama Island (2024), many fans were brought to joy that Owen has returned when he was a guest appearance. However, even if fans were disappointed that his character design didn't change at all and still looks like a teenager so we don't get the chance to see his adult appearance, fans still enjoyed the cameo.

What Do People Hate About Him?

• Due to staying very long in Total Drama Island and not winning any challenges after the merge, detractors believe he is an undeserved winner. This makes detractors believe that he is a Creator's Pet since he is constantly praised by the other contestants even if he does odd things and cost his team the challenge, and mainly having the focus on him.
• His case in Total Drama Action just increased his detractors even more especially since he returned to the competition when there were only five contestants left in the competition even if he won the first season. There is also a complaint about his arc of trying to cause problems under Chris’ orders due to his family needing money, since the arc gets forgotten with not everyone discovering what he was doing, and thus he doesn’t get many consequences for his actions.
• Detractors believe that his character revolves around fart humor, which also comes across his character pretty much just farting and eating. This is one of the main reasons detractors find him to be annoying.
• His return in The Ridonculous Race ended up not suiting well for detractors, thinking that other characters had a more deserving role to be in the season.
• While his hate did begin to tone down after The Ridonculous Race, he still has detractors that believe he should've retired since he still had his gross humor highlighted and has overstayed his welcome.

Trivia

• Owen had more detractors after Action. However, his reception began to become more positive overtime after World Tour and The Ridonculous Race. While still maintaining his vocal detractors for his toilet humor and overstaying his welcome, his hate began to tone down, making him a Base-Breaking Character instead.
