Omi is the main protagonist of the animated series Xiaolin Showdown and Xiaolin Chronicles. He is training to become the Xiaolin Dragon of Water. He is an orphaned monk who was raised by Master Fung. He is voiced by Tara Strong in both series.
What Makes Him A Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- His design is cute.
- His loyalty towards his friends.
- The fact that he's an orphan makes him come across as sympathetic, particularly in the episode Omi Town.
- The way he butchers words and phrases makes him funny.
- He occasionally shows sympathy towards fan-favourite Jack Spicer, who is derided by everyone.
- He was more likable in the earlier episodes where his pride was more due to eagerness to teach his friends everything he knew. His initial sexism towards Kimiko was also portrayed as more innocent due to following an old book instead of knowing any better.
- Some people find his exaggerated arrogance in later seasons to be funny rather than annoying.
- He gracefully accepts Raimundo as the first Shoku Warrior and the leader of the monks in the original series' finale.
- He displays maturity every once in a while.
What Do People Dislike About him?[]
- His pride and arrogance get flanderized in later seasons and especially in Xiaolin Chronicles.
- His occasional sexism towards Kimiko, which is less justified in later seasons.
- Treating Raimundo with contempt during the time he has yet to reach Xiaolin Apprentice level.
- The numerous times he almost caused the end of the world, such as when he used the Yin Yo-Yo to save Master Fung from the Yin-Yang World despite not knowing anything about this place, which causes him to turn evil after exiting the world with only this one Shen Gong Wu.
