Eugene Harold Krabs, better known simply as Mr. Krabs, is a major character in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
He is the cheap and greedy owner of the Krusty Krab, the boss of SpongeBob SquarePants and Squidward Tentacles and the arch-enemy of Sheldon J. Plankton. While usually a protagonist during his appearances, he also has plenty of antagonistic roles throughout the series.
He is voiced by Clancy Brown.

What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Clancy Brown gives him a memorable voice performance, with Mr. Krabs being one of his most iconic roles.
- He is a very comedic character with plenty of entertaining scenes, even during his villainous and selfish moments.
- He cares about SpongeBob, treating him like a son and giving him good advice, and his daughter Pearl.
- He has inspired many memes, such as Moar Krabs from Jellyfish Hunter, "Give it up for Day 15" from Fear of a Krabby Patty and the scene where he wore Pearl's shorts in Burst Your Bubble.
- Many feel that his derailment in Seasons 6-10 was fixed in Season 11, where his mean-spirited moments aren't as common nor are they as bad as they were during those seasons.
- Even during those seasons, there are still episodes where he acts like a decent character even in particularly mean-spirited episodes, like when he refused to mock SpongeBob in Little Yellow Book despite Squidward and the citizens considering SpongeBob's humiliation to be hilarious.
- His design is considered very iconic, and some fans even call him a hot crab.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- He is often an uncaring and terrible boss, often subjecting SpongeBob and Squidward to terrible work conditions while refusing to pay them, such as “Squid Baby” where he showed no sympathy to Squidward’s head injury and treated him like an adult to work behind the cash register regardless of his infant state.
- He is so obsessed with money that he is willing to commit crimes so he won't have to pay a cent, such as firing SpongeBob to save money in SpongeBob, You're Fired, stealing his own formula in Patty Caper and selling SpongeBob's soul to the Flying Dutchman for 62 cents in Born Again Krabs.
- He underwent a very horrible case of character derailment and his personality infamously got derailed during Seasons 6-10, where he became more of a greedy villain and even a lot more cruel and jerkish, along with most of the other main characters.
- He often gets away with his worst actions due to SpongeBob's blind loyalty towards him in episodes, such as Nasty Patty.
- While Plankton frequently antagonizes him, Mr. Krabs often treats him worse than he deserves, to the point where detractors see him as being more of a villain than Plankton, as the latter only wants to make his business as successful as the Krusty Krab even though he wants to be seen as evil unlike Krabs.
- In Plankton's Regular, he gets jealous that Plankton seemingly got a customer, to the point where he breaks down crying because he couldn't afford to let Plankton have a single customer (despite the success of the Krusty Krab), so he attempts to steal the recipe.
- In One Coarse Meal, once he finds out that Plankton is afraid of whales, he dresses up as Pearl to terrorize him to insanity and eventually the brink of suicide. He was later shown expressing his excitement towards causing Plankton's death and when SpongeBob called him out, he felt no remorse and blamed SpongeBob for exposing the location of the secret formula.
- Him getting away with his heinous actions in the aforementioned One Coarse Meal is seen as the worst of Mr. Krabs' handling as a character and has tainted many viewers' perception of him as a whole.

- The hatred towards Mr. Krabs' character in One Coarse Meal was even echoed by Clancy Brown, who stated that he felt uncomfortable voicing Mr. Krabs in the episode.
