Minerva Orland is a secondary antagonist who turned into a supporting character in the anime/manga series Fairy Tail. She is a mage of the former strongest guild in Fiore, Sabertooth. She is the daughter of Sabertooth's former master, Jiemma. After the events of the Grand Magic Games, she joins a dark guild called the Succubus Eye, but later joins Tartaros and becomes a demon, refering herself and Neo Minerva. After The Twin Dragons of Sabertooth recused Minerva, she rejoins Sabertooth and no longer has her sadistic traits.

What Do People Like About Her?[]
- While she was very heinous and evil from the beginning, she does have a reasoning of why she acted that way to begin with. She was abused by her power hungry father Jiemma. She regrets the person that she has became and later redeems herself after the recuse of Sting and Rogue, and rejoins Sabertooth once more. This helped increased her popularity since fans sympathize over her and is the process of her character development.
- Many of her fans found her to be a great villain during the Grand Magic Games and a great removal of other villains such as Ultear.
- Fans like that she is extremely powerful with her territory magic in which she can teleport other people, items, and herself in order to be easier when defeating an enemy. She overall has immense strength and magic power inside her.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- Because of her tragic story of why she became as heinous as she is, her detractors believe that she's inconsistently written and no one knew what to make up for her character. Detractors believe that she was forgiven way too easily, and that her freudian excuse came out of nowhere since she has shown no signs of her father's abuse.
- Detractors felt that her freudian excuse was rather predictable given on Jiemma's behavior towards the other members of Sabertooth.
- Detractors felt that her getting revenge on Erza is rather petty. She ends up getting beaten by her 3 times in a row. First she got beaten by Erza at the last day of the Grand Magic Games, when she fought her younger self in the Sun Village (Erza has finally got the chance to return to her adult body to defeat her), and in Tartaros, in which she shares her story and why she followed the dark path in the first place.
- While she did redeem herself, detractors were disappointed of her quick resolution. They felt like it was a cheap copy of what happened with Flare and other villains in the series.
