Are those two sets of ears? She must have four times the hearing.
~ Mikasa's infamous thought about Blake's Faunus ears.

Mikasa Ackerman is one of the two titular main protagonists of the DEATH BATTLE episode "Blake VS Mikasa." She is one of the top members of the Scout Regiment and Blake Belladonna's arch nemesis.

She was voiced by Francesca Calo.

What Makes Her a Base Breaking Character?[]

What Do People Like About Her?[]

  • Mikasa is portrayed fairly well and accurate to her canon self, at least in comparison to her opponent Blake.
  • Francesca Calo's performance as Mikasa was mostly well received.
  • She cares deeply about the safety of others, and was understandably frustrated by Blake's ignorance.
  • She is shown to be tactful, noticing Blake's extra pair of ears, her shadow clone power, and being able to disrupt Blake's grappling. The ending even shows her learning from the shadow clones by using a Thunder Spear as bait to throw another one behind her to an incoming Blake.
  • She was able to slice off Blake's arm. While the execution was flawed on Blake's part, this does show she is one of the most powerful characters Blake has had to face.
  • Her death was considered cool by some fans.

What Do People Hate About Her?[]

  • Some fans felt Mikasa's aggression was a bit too much, and felt she didn't need to destroy Blake's book to get her attention.
  • One of the most infamous parts of the episode is Mikasa's line "Are those two sets of ears? She must have four times the hearing." The logic of two sets of ears would actually be that Blake would have twice the hearing, not four times the hearing.
    • It's possible that Mikasa's overestimation was actually from recognizing those are cat ears, which have a much better hearing over human ears. However, the line is not conveyed like this.
  • Fans felt that Mikasa constantly replacing blades was unnecessary, especially since the blades do not have any visible damage.
  • Even after figuring out Blake's shadow clone technique, Mikasa doesn't do much to capitalize on this, apart from the ending. In fact, there is a rather infamous scene where Mikasa grabs Blake in the air and punches her going upward instead of using her swords, which leads to Blake dropping a fire dust shadow clone on her.
  • Fans question Mikasa's action of cutting off Blake's arm instead of her head when she was wide open, as her blades should be capable of doing that.
  • Fans considered her death scream to sound unintentionally funny, alongside certain visuals of said death.
