Master Xehanort is the one of the main antagonists of the Kingdom Hearts series, serving as the main antagonist of the Dark Seeker Saga, He is the original incarnation of Xehanort, the ex best friend of Master Eraques, Arch Enemy of Sora and the Guardians of Light. In Japanese, he was voiced by the late Chikao Ōtsuka (who also voiced Captain Hook in the same series, Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Hound, and Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog, and by his son Akio Ōtsuka (who also voices Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Terra-Xehanort in the same series) from Kingdom Hearts III onwards.
In English, he was voiced by the late Leonard Nimoy, the late Rutger Hauer, and Christopher Lloyd.

- Fairy Godmother in Birth By Sleep says that fight Darkness with just Light without compassion and forgiveness only make Darkness act more hostile, and Darkness should be fight with compassion.

What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Compared to other versions of himself, such as Ansem and Xemnas, Xehanort is seen as less complex. Despite all other version of him are simply part of him, they are seen as seperate characters.
- His tragic backstory in Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road, released after Kingdom Hearts 3, should have been disclosed earlier, making it harder for fans to sympathize with him.
- The ending of Kingdom Hearts III attempts to redeem Xehanort and portray him as a sympathetic character. He aimed to create a purge that would restore all worlds to their original state, free from darkness, and lead the universe in a way that would prevent anyone from disrupting the balance with their relentless darkness. However, this attempt to sympathize with and redeem Xehanort is relatively weak, given the numerous crimes he committed throughout the series. Critics argue that he does not deserve Eraqus's forgiveness, considering he destroyed lives. It is also noted that some of his goals, such as "taking down the tyranny of light," stemmed from his surrender to the darkness.
