Lucy Heartfilia is one of the main protagonist in the anime/manga Fairy Tail. She is a teenage celestial spirit mage who has a desire in becoming a member of Fairy Tail. After meeting Natsu Dragneel and his sidekick Happy, they invite her to the guild and she officially becomes a member. She is a member of the Heartfilia Clan who ran away from home from her father who really focused on his job instead of his daughter after her mother died.

What Do People Like About Her?[]
- She is extremely kind and loyal to those in Fairy Tail and even her Celestial Spirits. She accepts anyone and is willing to forgive others easily despite of them hurting her.
- She may not have been the strongest in the beginning of the series but fans appreciate her growth as a character as she develops into a much stronger woman and helps her friends in battles more instead of always being a damsel. She started off being a somewhat greedy damsel who couldn't really fight and develops into a strong badass who can fight for herself.
- She even learns a new ability called Star Dress, which is only a Celestial Spirit thing. She can place a key of any of her Celestial Spirits on her chest and can form into a wardrobe based on what spirit she is using.
- She saves her entire guild in Tartaros. Without her, all the Fairy Tail members would've been dead.
- She had to sacrifice Aquarius's key in order to summon the Celestial Spirit King, which is one of the saddest moments in the series.
- She takes a huge part in helping Natsu defeat both Zeref and Acnologia.
- She rewrites missing parts of the book of E.N.D. so Natsu can defeat Zeref (though Lucy sadly never knew Zeref's true nature and selfless plan), as Natsu would've died if he killed Zeref.
- She guides everyone in doing the Fairy Sphere to seal Acnologia in an ice boat Gray and Lyon made. She gathers everyone's powers into creating the Fairy Sphere.
- Many fans like her strong relationship with Natsu, Happy, Aquarius, and with her Celestial Spirits.
- Lucy has some of the cutest outfits through the entire series, which can also make her stylish.
- Many fans find her a very relatable character since she is one of the more saner members in Fairy Tail, as well as her having a very relatable backstory due to being neglected by her father and struggles to make money despite coming from a wealthy background. Many find her as one of the best written characters in the series.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- While she is the main female protagonist, fans don't really like that status for her, thinking that she takes the spotlight and having most of the plot revolve around her and doesn’t suit well for the status.
- Detractors found her status as a damsel to be frustrating to the plot. She has too many unwanted fanservice moments with having her clothes fall off at random times and wears too many revealing outfits which really irritates detractors. What doesn't help her case is the fact that she's 17 years old.
- When comparing her powers with other characters such as Natsu, Erza, and Gray, she comes across as useless for mostly losing her fights and having her Celestial Spirits do most of the work in battle.
- Detractors find some of her fights to be very frustrating and disappointing since she doesn't really know how to use her magic properly in battle.
- Some people find her too emotional. While Natsu can a lot of times be a handful (even some of the other characters to a lesser extent), Lucy's reactions can come off as going too far and not being any better than them.
