Lois Patrice Griffin (neé Pewterschmidt) is a main character of the animated sitcom Family Guy. She is the wife of Peter Griffin.
She is voiced by Alex Borstein.
What Makes Her a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Her?[]
- Just like with many Family Guy characters, she can be genuinely funny at times.
- Unlike her husband Peter, who constantly has villainous roles, she has several heroic roles like saving a kid with cancer (although these are less often in newer seasons.)
- In the earlier seasons, she was shown to be more kind and caring towards her family, she didn't cheat on Peter, and is generally supportive towards her kids. She still has several moments of caring for her family, such as whenever she calls Peter out on abusing their children or reconciling with Meg in the episode, "Snap-ple Decision".
- Starting with season 22, she mostly reverted back to her old self, as proven when she reconciled with Meg and when she saved Peter from getting eaten by a shark.
- Her fans also find her character very attractive because of her good looks, especially during her midlife crisis in "Lois Comes Out of Her Shell".
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- Ever since season 8, her personality has started to become worse and shows egotistical and hypocritical traits. She constantly enforces rules on the family or other people then ends up breaking them herself. If anybody criticizes her, she becomes very vengeful and spiteful.
- This is best shown when she doesn't get the customer of the month award at Starbucks and ends up kidnapping several people while refusing to take responsibility.
- She is shown to be cheating on Peter several times (although to be fair, many detractors consider Peter to be the worst husband and father imaginable).
- She is abusive to her daughter, Meg, even encouraging her to commit suicide at one point. (While she did try to be patient with her beforehand, this is still terrible parenting.)
- She can be very annoying due to her voice being so high pitched. It should be noted that it can’t help that she starts saying Peter's name like "Petah".
