Why Do Some People Hate The Character?	Detractors feel she has gone too far in her actions and felt she should be punished like any dictator. Some feel Kuvira does not deserve redemption after all she's done.
Why Do Some People Love The Character?	Many Love Kuvira for being a complex three-dimensional character with understandable goals. Zelda Williams performance as Kuvira is really well done. Many love her redemption and felt she deserves it since she did what she thought was right for her people despite her crimes.

Kuvira is the former military leader turned dictator of the Earth Kingdom and the main antagonist of book 4 in The Legend of Korra. She is the adopted daughter of Suyin Beifong after her parents abandon her, this event would affect her psychologically and lead her to how she is in the show. Kuvira genuinely wanted to help the crumbling Earth Kingdom after the death of the Earth Queen in the hands of Zaheer, the main antagonist of book 3. She felt Suyin did nothing to help their crumbling nation so she decides to take things in her own hands by creating a military faction to restore it.

Kuvira was voiced by Zelda Williams, the daughter of Robin Williams.

Why Do People Love Her?

• Like Amon and Zaheer, she is loved for being a well-intentioned extremist, who wanted to help the crumbling Earth Kingdom and restore it but does it through ruthless force. Kuvira genuinely thought she was doing the right thing for her nation and wanted to get rid of the monarchy all together since she felt the monarchy is what cause the suffering of it's citizens.
• Kuvira shows much of her prowess as a metalbender and is a well done combatant.
• Many relate to her insecurity of feeling abandon by her parents and views this same situation through the suffering of her people.
• Most agree with her stance on Prince Wu, who from the start was a pathetic noble selected to be the next ruler of the Earth Kingdom. Not only that but many fans agree on her view that the monarchy made the nation much worse.
• Many like her defeat where she willing surrenders and understands Korra in a deeper level while apologizing to Suyin for her actions.
• Some love her redemption in the comics where she helps team avatar fight against some loyalist of her dead regime as a way to atone for her actions in the show. She regrets for the many crimes she has committed and is forgiven by Suyin.
• Fans love Zelda Williams performance as Kuvira.

• Some detractors think her redemption in the comics is poorly written since the actions she took in her efforts to restore the Earth Kingdom left them to view her in a negative light especially the fact that she was slowly becoming an authoritarian dictator.
