Kokichi Oma is the secondary antagonist of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. He is known as the Ultimate Supreme Leader, as that is his Ultimate talent. He is well-known as an excellent liar.
He is voiced by Hiro Shimono (whom also voiced Dabi and Zenitsu Agatsuma) in the Japanese version, and Derek Stephen Prince in the English dub.
What Makes Him A Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Fans consider him a complex character, having implications of having some sort of hidden vulnerable side.
- Most fans consider him better and more intelligent than fellow BBCs Byakuya Togami and (usually, but not as likely) Nagito Komaeda.
- Fans like to ship him with Shuichi Saihara, due to the vague implication of a crush.
- Some fans consider him funny, especially through interactions with Miu Iruma.
- His laugh ("Nishishi" in Japanese and "Nee-hee-hee" in English) is considered to be funny and memorable by fans.
- Several of his quotes such as "Hey, do robots have d*cks?" and "It would slide, just like Shumai said!" have became memes in the Danganronpa fandom.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Many detractors think the writers have to make him always be right. For example, his "unsolvable murder" in Chapter 5. It only is solved because of an accident Kokichi couldn't have expected. It feels the writers can't have him screw up due to actual error, but moreso random accidents that absolve him of all mistakes and make him seem "smarter".
- His plans are considered utterly idiotic and forced, with other characters being dumbed down to fall for his schemes mindlessly.
- Many detractors think Angie Yonaga would be a more effective antagonist, due to the fact she has more of an interesting way of representing the theme of truth and lies, as opposed to Kokichi, who just feels like a little brat thinking he's a genius.
- Half of Kokichi's dialogue is just "It's a lie! Or is it? It is! ...Or is it?". It's even more repetitive than Maki's "Do you want to die?" repeating. It technically comes up less than Angie with Atua, but it's still annoyingly bland dialogue.
- Many people think any "complexity" he has is reading far too hard into him being scared after learning he was in a murder game, which is an appropriate and reasonable reaction.
- He often admits that he's lying quickly, and constantly brags about being a liar, making the other characters seem like utter idiots for falling for his lies more than once.
- The fact his outfit resembles a straitjacket and that he's implied to be mentally ill speaks for itself.
- His hat in his splash art references Nazi designs, making it seen as incredibly inappropriate.
- Many people seem to think he is incredibly flat, with his whole "enigmatic" thing only existing to hide his utter lack of characterization.
