Kazuichi Soda is a character in the video game Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair whose title is the Ultimate Mechanic. He was brainwashed into becoming an Ultimate Despair (Just like class 77-b) and he survived the Killing School Trip.

In both the games and anime, he was voiced by Kyle Herbert (English dubs) and Yoshimasa Hosoya (Original Japanese).

What Do People Like About Him?

• Many fans come across and like his character design in which they find it very cool with the delinquent vibe in his design.
• His backstory is quite tragic, making many fans feel sympathy for him. He grew up with no friends who grew up poor with a father who was abusive. And while Kazuichi did have a friend in middle school, he began to have trust issues after he let his friend cheat off his test in which they both got caught.
• Fans also found most of his comedic moments to be funny when they game takes a turn for the dark.
• Fans have also enjoyed his well established friendship with Hajime in the first three chapters of the game.

What Do People Hate About Him?

• Many fans found his obsession with Sonia Nevermind is unhealthy and creepy. Throughout the series, it has gotten annoying to the fact that he stalks her and making it only seem like he likes her for who he think she is. Detractors feel that it has gotten worse as the game processed.
• Detractors thought that he was a waste of a survivor and doesn't add much to the plot. Another issue that detractors think is that he doesn't get much development throughout the story. Because of this, detractors make him come across as useless and poorly written.
