Kars is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Diavolo) of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise. He is the overarching antagonist of Part I: Phantom Blood and the main antagonist of Part II: Battle Tendency.
What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Like his fellow pillar men, he has a muscular and sexy appearance and badass character design.
- He has two epic theme songs, Awake (which is shared by his fellow pillar men) and Avalon (as the ultimate life form), giving him a strong evil-is-cool prescence.
- His ability of light mode is very flashy and cool, and his ultimate life form has many unique and intersting abilities, making his fight entertaining to watch.
- He is highly strategic in fighting, can use every possible tactic in order to win, even it is cheating.
- He genuinely cares about his fellow pillar men Wamuu and Esidisi. He apologizes to Wamuu for stepping in his shadow, and is angered and saddened after Esidisi and Wamuu's death. Even after he becomes the ultimate life form, he still aims to kill Joseph to avenge his fallen comrades.
- His many moments become memes and are well-received among JoJo fans, such as laughing maniacally after falling the cliff, as well as stopped thinking in the finale.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- Detractors think his motive of villainy is too plain and simple, as he is just a generic power seeking villain who desires to become invincible, making him less interesting and memorable among other JoJo main antagonists.
- His comedic moment of playing Lisa Lisa’s legs like a guitar is considered weird, doesn’t add to his magnificence and makes him a cocky jerk.
- Despite he is described to have omniscent intelligence and telescope-like eyesight after becoming the ultimate life form, he isn't presented as smart and powerful as he should be, as he is tricked by Joseph using a doll and freezed himself in the space.
- Some fans think his defeat of being pulled into the space by lava eruption is forced and unreasonable, making his final fight against Joseph less satisfyiing.
