What Makes Him a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Juzo's voice actors did the best performance in English and Japanese Dubs
- His design is very cool, for him being the boxer.
- Some enjoy him for being LGBTQ+ representation and ship him with Kyosuke.
- In spite of his jerkassery, he has some of the Pet the Dog moments, including care for Chisa Yukizome and Kyosuke Munakata as well as a brief moment of being genuinely affected upon hearing about Seiko Kimura's death.
- In Episode 8, he attempted to leave through what was believed to be the exit of the game, not caring that he'll trigger Ruruka's (who was even more hated than him by the fans at the time) NG Code in the process, with many cheering for him to kill her.
- He cut off his hand in order to fight against the killing game by removing his wristband in this way, being free from his NG Code and sleeping periods, which can easily be seen as badass.
- His sacrifice saving Makoto Naegi from suicide and his death played for tearjerker.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- His violent, abusive, and hypocritical behaviour got some of his detractors.
- He beats up Hajime Hinata and gave him a brutal honesty speech, which makes him indirectly responsible for changing Hajime from a nice guy into a more-aloof Izuru Kamakura, which leads Junko Enoshima into becoming the main antagonist of the franchise and rising to power.
- Letting Junko go because she threatened to tell everyone that's he love Kyosuke.
- Consider there're many characters in franchise that is also not heterosexuals but doesn't bother to hide their sexuality, thus only make him a coward among them.
- He attempt to kill Makoto Naegi all because he helped and saved Remnants of Despair from almost getting killed by the Future Foundation.
- Despite having a few comedic moments, he is played very seriously in-universe, when he has comedic moments, it's always him insulting and assaulting Hajime Hinata and Makoto Naegi.
- Some believe he's a poor representation of LGBTQ+ as he's mostly a jerkass who's the most defining character trait is his loyalty to his love interest.
