Hisoka Morrow is a mysterious self-proclaimed magician with strong abilities and power while being the main antagonist of the Hunter X Hunter series. Hedonistic and power-hungry, Hisoka is a man who is willing to fight any powerful opponent as long they are entertaining for him to destroy as a way to satisfy his sadism. Despite his feminine and clown-like appearance, Hisoka is not one to be trifled with as he is terrifyingly powerful with a selfish streak to prove himself that he is better than others.
For the 1999 anime, Hisoka is voiced by Hiroki Takahashi for the Japanese dub and Brendan Hunter for the English dub. In the 2011 anime, he is voiced by Keith Silverstein in the English dub and Daisuke Namikawa in the Japanese dub.

What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Many fans deeply love his personality as it highlights his flamboyant characterization while hiding his true malicious colors. Hisoka shows that he can be funny, witty, and even affable at times but all of this is a facade to lower people's guard down for his manipulation of them.
- A lot of people like his clown-like design with some thinking it's inspired by the Joker.
- He has a cool set of abilities and shows himself just how capable he is as a fighter many times.
- Fans love Keith Silverstein's and Daisuke Namikawa's performance in the anime.
- Hisoka is heavily used for memes, for example: his quote, "Bungee gum has properties of both gum and rubber", is remembered as the funniest thing he has ever said. The quote was so popular, it became a huge meme within the fandom.
- The mysterious nature of his character is interesting as you're never given any information on his background which leads the viewer to question where he comes from and why he's like this.
- His relationship with characters like Gon, Illumi, and The Phantom Troupe members is very interesting.
- Despite the creepy atmosphere of his personality and appearance, some people consider him attractive especially with his hair down.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- The creepy nature of Hisoka's personality disturbed a lot of detractors as Hisoka's sadism is constantly displayed and his odd choice of words makes him very disturbing to watch.
- A lot of detractors are deeply disgusted by the other side of Hisoka's personality, his pervertness and his implied pedophila. Much like his sadism, Hisoka has a pleasure on destroying his foes that are strong to the point of it becoming his fetish. His attraction to strong people is what matters to him no matter the age of the person especially if they are children. Detractors started to view him as a pedophile due to this fact and his interactions with Gon and Killua makes it seem that he is attracted to children.

- Though this may be strange, Hisoka's sexuality is the most highly debated topic within the Hunter X Hunter fanbase. Many fans have often debated if Hisoka is a pedophile or not. Some argue that since Hisoka can be attracted to literally anyone with special powers with age out of the question would qualify him as a pedophile in some sense. But others argue that it doesn't, mainly to do with that he is only attracted to powerful foes he can destroy while his antics just show how sadistic he is as a person and the little care he has towards his infamous reputation.
- This heated debate has lead to some controversy on the character with some fans questioning if they should like Hisoka or not. In spite of this, it still increased his popularity.
