Gwen, known to be the loner, is a major character in the Total Drama franchise. She participated in Total Drama Island, and ended up being one of the first finalist (along with Owen). She was once in a relationship with Trent, which the both of them ended up breaking up in Total Drama Action. She also came back in Total Drama World Tour and Total Drama All-Stars.

- She became one of the most beloved characters with her relatable snarky goth loner portrayal in the first season of the series. Even if she did have a snarky attitude, fans still like that she is still independent and kind-hearted.
- Gwen was also shown to have a badass side to her. She was a strong player who won several challenges, which made her get in the finals. The most memorable one is when she clobbered a real psycho killer.
- Fans loved her relationship with Trent, especially since it's the main couple in the first season. Many fans found her developing crush on Trent to be adorable. Fans also seem to enjoy her friendship with the other characters as well, which includes her friendship with Bridgette and Leshawna.
- After her kiss with Duncan, fans believe that she was the victim of the love triangle. Fans believed that Duncan was the one that kissed her first.
- In All-Stars, fans begin to feel sympathy for her due to what she had to go through in the first few episodes and the fact that she regrets kissing Duncan and wants to make things right so that her relationship with Courtney can get better.
- In the same season, some fans like how she became a much nicer character who saved the lives of several other contestants.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- As the series went on, she ended up being more divisive due to her character derailment in her later portrayals. She was once the snarky yet kind-hearted goth girl which ended up becoming a selfish and manipulative jerk who ended up ruining Duncan and Courtney's relationship due to her kissing him.
- She is one of the main blames of the whole Love Triangle. Detractors believe that she's no less guilty of what happened between her affair with Duncan was exposed, which was because she knew that Duncan and Courtney were dating at the time when she ended up kissing Duncan, leading her to be a victim in shipping wars.
- In All Stars, her personality was much different from her former self, which is debated whether if she should still be considered the goth girl due to her friendship with Zoey and Cameron. Since Courtney treated her more harshly in All-Stars, Gwen became hypocritical due treating Courtney the same way in Total Drama World Tour, also making her unsympathetic.
- Even in Total Drama Island she became a Base-Breaking Character due to her harsh attitude towards the nicer contestants, such as Geoff in the episode Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon. This also makes detractors believe that the archetype is overused.
- Speaking of which, she badmouths almost all of the contestants in the finale. While some insults are warranted, many haven't done anything to her, and certain people she insulted include competitors that she had befriended, like Trent (whom she already explained the misunderstanding with), Geoff or Duncan.
- Also, in Island, she might come off as a designated hero for some as despite having the moral high ground, she unnecessarily escalates her conflict with Heather further by continuing to retaliate against her with Leshawna instead of simply voting her off.
