Gray Fullbuster is one of the tritagonists in the anime/manga series Fairy Tail. He is a member of the Fairy Tail guild and is the rival of Natsu Dragneel. He uses Ice Make Magic, and learnt it from his teacher Ur Milkovich after Deliora killed his family.
In Japanese dub, he is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura, and young Gray is voiced by Eri Kitamura. In English dub, he is voiced by Newton Pittman, and young Gray is voiced by Ryan Reynolds. He is portrayed by Atsushi Shiramata in the stageplay adaptation.

What Do People Like About Him?[]
- Unlike Natsu who usually wins his fights with power-ups, Gray wins his fights with wit and strategy, making fans appreciate his wins.
- Since Fairy Tail is known for having fanservice, Gray pretty much balances the fanservice, which makes both male and female characters have an equal amount of fanservice.
- Since he has an unhealthy habit of striping, many of his fans think it's funny and keeps him fleshed out for his fans.
- He gains character development in Tartaros by gaining Ice Devil Slayer Magic from his father, giving him a power-up as a character, increasing his popularity.
- As the series goes on, he starts to show more respect for Juvia, since he begins to develop more feelings for her over time, their relationship is also very enjoyed since the both of them together make a great team.
- Gray has suffered from too much tragedy in the series, his parents die from a Demon called Deliora, but then sees his mentor sacrifice her life to use Iced Shell on Deliora to save Gray's life. He later loses Ultear since she used Last Ages to go back in time to fix her past sins, while the time rewounded to one minute, she ended up saving Gray's life from dying.
- He also sadly never knew that Zeref never meant for Deliora to be a threat too humanity, and during the Alvarez Empire Arc, he sadly didn't know Zeref's true nature and that his true plan really was in fact something he wanted to do to set everything right.
What Do People Hate About Him?[]
- He is considered to be a flat character since the first major arc revolves around his backstory and motivations and seemed to get ignored again until the second-to-last major arc, which also makes his detractors believe that he's a float character and doesn't have a role in the series since he the only one of the main characters that doesn't contribute much outside when fighting and even his rivalry with Natsu begins to be taken by Gajeel until Tartaros.
- His detractors think his only purpose in the series is for being a plain fanservice character and his stripping habits can get annoying.
- He was way to harsh on Juvia since she would openly show her love towards him and just pretty much never gave her an answer for the longest time.
- His detractors also think of why Gray is pushed to be Natsu's rival since he isn't given the treatment that Natsu gets since Gray usually gets power-ups at the most random times. Either way, he is nowhere near Natsu's level in strength.
