General Esdeath (in Japanese: エスデス, Esudesu) is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Prime Minister Honest) of the manga Akame Ga Kill!, and the 2014 anime adaptation of the same name. She is a high-ranking general of the Empire, one of the most powerful Teigu users in the world and the leader of the Jaegers. She also serves as the biggest physical threat of the series.
She was voiced in Japanese by Satomi Akesaka, and by Christine Auten in the English dub.

What Do People Like About Her?[]
- Many fans love her attractive eye-catching character design. Her is design is considered much better compared to the more ugly ones like the Prime Minister Honest.
- She is shown to love Tatsumi, which is the biggest factor in gaining the appreciation of many fans.
- She has fans that like how much of a badass she is. She is very strong and was able to freeze an entire lake within moments due to her ability.
- Although she is a villain, she also has positive personality traits that prevent her from being a complete monster, such as her caring attitude towards his subordinates and her honor in battle. This appreciated fans since she isn't a one-dimensional villain unlike Honest.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- Many detractors believe that she is an edgy villain since she is said to be only love being evil and has a pretty generic and boring motive of "the strong trample over the weak".
- There are some of the aspects from her backstory that went unexplored, such as about her father. The fans questioned that if Esdeath's father was either really that abusive, pragmatic, or well-meaning father, sadism was inherited in Esdeath's lineage, or that Esdeath motivated by loss of someone. The fanbase could never get any answers.
- Many found her to be an overpowered villain sue, specifically in the manga.
- While her powers were mostly Cryokinesis, her ability to "freeze" (Stop) time was not foreshadowed from what Devil's Extract that manipulates ice. Alongside Obito from Naruto, this ability is considered to be an ass-pull.
- Some viewers find disturbing that she wants to have a relationship with Tatsumi when he's 17 and she's an adult.
