What Makes Her a Base Breaking Character?[]
What Do People Like About Her?[]
- People like Asha's personality and find her cute.
- Some fans like how her design looks, as it's reminiscent of the fairy godmother from Cinderella.
- Many love the idea of her being an Afro-Latina character as it represent the mix diversity that Disney fans want and are glad to have her join the other Disney Princesses.
- Many like Ariana DeBose performance in the movie including the songs she's involve in.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- Many detractors find her very bland for a protagonist and describing her of being boring. It is often cited that she remains the same throughout the entire movie and does not look any different in terms of goals and characterzation from beginning to end, mainly subverting her initially selfish motive of wanting to have her grandfather’s wish granted when the film changes her goal to rescuing everyone else’s wishes and giving them back to their owners. Even those who like the movie agree with this problem.
- Detractors at this point are sick and tired of the adorkable trope that Disney keep shoving into their female characters nowadays. This also doesn't help in Asha's case, because unlike the previous ones before her, Asha lacks any hidden depths, making her characterization flat-out basic.
