Amy Rose is one of the major characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. She is Sonic's self-proclaimed girlfriend and the best friends of Cream the Rabbit and Big the Cat which makes up the group, Team Rose with her as their leader.
She was voiced by Taeko Kawata in Japanese, except for Sonic the Hedgehog CD and Sonic Shuffle in which she was voiced by Masafumi Ogata and Emi Motoi respectively. In English, she was voiced by Jennifer Douillard from 1999 to 2004, Lisa Ortiz from 2005 to 2010, and Cindy Robinson from 2010 onwards.

What Do People Like About Her?[]
- Amy Rose is loved by fans for her development from being the damsel in distress in the early games, to being a more independent action girl who can fight on her own and it's the most noticeable in the Sonic Adventure series where she fights ZERO after it hurts a Flicky bird, whom she helps to reunite it with its family.
- Fans find the scene where she helps dissuade Shadow the Hedgehog from getting vengeance on the world who took Maria Robotnik's life and tells him that there are still good people in the world who don't deserve this fate and convinces him to help others, reminding him of Maria's last wish and giving him the resolve to save it.
- She is the most level-headed with Team Rose and helps them to chin up so they can help their friends, and she happens to be the big sister figure to Cream the Rabbit, which is the most well-received.
- Even when she gets obsessive with Sonic at times, her fans find their relationship to be cute when she isn't being aggressive with him on a bad day and has many touching moments with him and genuinely cares for his safety and willing to protect him as shown in Sonic 06 where she saves Sonic from Silver and being the one responsible for setting up Silver's character arc.
- She is most often shipped with Sonic, though she has been shipped with other characters such as Shadow, Silver, or even Sally Acorn, the character whom she is at ship wars with, and a number of fans wanting to make peace between Sonamy and Sonally fans.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- There are people who don't like Amy for her being very aggressive with Sonic and towards other girls who interact with him, even if they don't have any romantic feelings with him nor intend on being in a relationship with him, which makes her outbursts unnecessary. They also don't like when she tried to attack him with her hammer just for being late for a date at the end of Black Knight.
- However, since she has developed as a character by mellowing out and gradually letting go of her obsession over Sonic in the previous comics and games, as well as not going so berserk when things don't go her way anymore, this is pretty minor now.
- Her depiction in Sonic Free Riders, has been the most criticized for how excessively bratty she is to everyone, from leaving Cream behind many times, snapping at Vector a lot, and acts like a poor sport when she isn't given royal treatment. Fans consider this version to be the worst take on Amy of all time.
- But this is minor, since her character stopped being like when Sega decided to get better writers.
