America Chavez is the deuteragonist of the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She is a teenager from an alternate universe, and a supernatural being who is capable of traveling across the multiverse by creating star portals.
She became a helper of Doctor Strange when Scarlet Witch wanted to capture the girl so she could absorb her powers. After Scarlet Witch ended her reign by destroying every Darkhold in every universe, America became a member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts.
She is portrayed by Xochitl Gomez.

- Fans believe her personality is cool.
- Fans think her powers were pretty cool, and her portal generation abilities may justify why the first thing she usually does is to escape.
- Fans like how she gets Scarlet Witch to see sense after realizing she's virtually impossible to defeat.
- Due to being a lot nicer and less of a jerk than her comic counterpart, some fans consider her an improvement over her the comic version.
- Her comic counterpart origin make her so Mary Sue, Marvel decide to retcon it to make her human already exist on earth in pocket dimension of Earth-616. Which isn't problem for MCU counterpart because while Marvel keep some old backstory aspect from comic, they make her seperate from her moms by accident instead of her choose to run away from home.
- Fans can agree that Xochitl Gomez's portrayal of the character is brilliant.
What Do People Hate About Her?[]
- Detractors are left with questions as to how she is even born without a father.
- The easy explanation is her home dimension has only women and their reproductive system is different from humans, but this explanation is also based on comic storyline that has already been retcon.
- The line where she called Spider-Man gross or asked if he shoots webs out of his butt was seen by viewers as forced toilet humour.
- Detractors believe her powers are poorly developed, she gets them from a bee and unintentionally activates it through screaming, but then Strange tells her to believe in herself and then she instantly mastered them.
- Detractors think she is very annoying and cowardly, constantly running away from fights.
