After watching Thunderbolts last night for my birthday, I feel confident in doing this.
What's the work and who is John Walker?
First appearing in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and then Thunderbolts (actually The New Avengers), John F. Walker is formerly introduced as the new Captain America after Steve Rogers. However, throughout the show, he ends up losing his position as such and becomes U.S. Agent.
Why the removal?
For starters, John is one of the most praised MCU characters, especially of those introduced post-Endgame. John is widely hailed for being such as a complex and multi-layered character. Many considered him one of the best parts of FATWS.
Secondly, all the hate he got was for things he's MEANT to be hated for. His attitude, killing Nico, etc. Those are things he's meant to criticized for, as people in-universe do so.
But the main reason? Especially since Thunderbolts, John gets WAY more love than hate. Most debates about him nowaday's are whether he "did nothing wrong" or "is a complex gray character". But a vast majority of people like him and Thunderbolts is largely the reason why now. At MOST, the hate is a vocal minority rather than 50/50
Final verdict?
Cut. He's absolutely a Main Light Horse.
